CamBackup was founded in Curaçao by Royendgel Silberie — not because it was a business opportunity, but because he needed it.

"

In 2023, our home in Curaçao was burglarized. The thieves took electronics, jewelry — things that had real sentimental value. We had a camera, but the footage was stored locally. It was gone.

What changed everything was a neighbor's camera. It had captured the moment. The footage wasn't perfect, but the AI face recognition in the app flagged a match. That technology helped us recover several stolen items and identify a suspect.

I realized that this kind of protection — cloud-backed, AI-powered, always-on — shouldn't only be available to big corporations or tech-savvy people. Anyone with a camera and an internet connection should have it. So I built CamBackup.
